idD Portugal Defence, the Directorate-General for National Defence Resources (DGRDN), and the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) took part in the 2025 edition of the SIM Conference, which for the first time included a thematic track dedicated to the Defence sector.
Of particular note were the sessions “Next-Gen Defence: Tech Innovations Shaping the Future of Innovation”, focused on the contribution of start-ups to the integration of emerging technologies (such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity) in the Defence domain, and “Defense meets Innovation: Unlocking Dual-Use Tech for Global Impact”, which explored the potential of start-ups to address defence-related challenges across multiple areas.
idD also participated in the “Cyber + Defence” Meetup, a networking initiative in partnership with 33N Ventures and the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO). This event brought together experts, investors, and institutional representatives to discuss Defence and cybersecurity.
