In 2020, companies in the defence sector outperformed the national average, reveals a joint study by idD Portugal Defence, the National Defence Institute and the GEE of the Ministry of Economy.
idD Portugal Defence was present at Eurosatory, which took place in Paris, from the 13th to the 17th of June.
idD Portugal Defence was present at Undersea Defence Technology (UDT), which took place in Rotterdam, from the 7th to the 9th of June.
idD Portugal Defence visited several research centres and interface units of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (in Guimarães) and the INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (in Braga) together with the Innovation Division of the Navy’s General Staff.
idD participated in the 9th edition of the AED Days, organized by the national cluster for the Aeronautics, Space and Defence industries, AED Cluster Portugal, which includes several entities from the Defence Technology and Industrial Base (DTIB).
This event brought together around 30 national and British companies, with more than 40 bilateral meetings taking place aiming to explore potential business opportunities, thus contributing to the integration of Portuguese entities in the supply chains of British companies.
This session brought together representatives of national and European entities working in the field of defence to present the “Strategic Compass” and offer their perspectives on possible opportunities and challenges for the defence economy.
idD Portugal Defence was received on May 5th by the Air Force Chief of Staff, General João Cartaxo Alves, with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of idD, Catarina Nunes, and the Member of the Board of Directors, Pedro Felício.
