From July 22 to 26, idD Portugal Defence, in partnership with AED Cluster Portugal, was promoting Portugal and its defense industry at the prestigious Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The fair is recognized as one of the largest aerospace and defense exhibitions in the world.

The Portugal Pavilion stood out with the display of nine national entities and projects: Aero.Next Portugal; AVP – Aero Voo de Portugal; Beyond Vision; CCG/ZGDV Institute; CITEVE; Fibrenamics; FLY.PT; ISQ; and TEKEVER.

BTID Meets with Companies from Canada and Northern Ireland

As part of its mission, idD worked with BTID to promote new opportunities for collaboration and innovation between national and foreign entities.

Launch of the BVQ 418 Drone by Beyond Vision

One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the BVQ 418 Drone by Beyond Vision, covered by Unmanned Systems Technology magazine. During the demonstration, the BVQ 418 successfully detected a fire and promptly reported it to the relevant authorities, showcasing its effectiveness and technological innovation.

Objective

The primary objective of Portugal’s participation at the Farnborough International Airshow was to strengthen the position of national companies in the global market. Through this initiative, the aim was to facilitate access for Portuguese companies to international business opportunities and collaboration on technological innovation projects. The presence at the Portugal Pavilion allowed national companies to:
