Context
Institutions are required to implement policies, procedures and data protection mechanisms aimed at ensuring the integrity, transparency and lawfulness of personal data processing, and compliance with the principles, duties and obligations arising from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable legislation on cybersecurity, privacy and data protection.
This Security Policy aims to define the rules to be observed when processing personal data, when using cookies on the public websites of idD Portugal Defence, in particular the requirement for consent under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC) which was transposed into national law through Law No. 41/2004, with the amendments introduced by Law No. 46/2012, of 29/08 and Law No. 16/2022, of 16/08.
The content of this Security Policy fully complies with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Law No. 58/2019 of 8 August which implements Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the Parliament and the Council in the national legal order, and other applicable national legislation on privacy and data protection, the regulations issued by the supervisory authority, as well as other internal policies and standards of idD Portugal Defence.

Scope of Application
This Security Policy sets out a set of specific guidelines to be applied by idD Portugal Defence in the process of processing personal data and information security when using cookies.

This specific Security Policy is an integral part of the Data Protection Management System (DPMS) and is hierarchically subordinate to the Information Security Policy (ISP) and the Security Plan (SP).
