On November 19th and 20th, the third edition of the “Portuguese Army Innovation and Technological Modernization Event” took place at the Taguspark Conference Center in Oeiras. This initiative, organized by the Portuguese Army in partnership with idD Portugal Defence, the Municipality of Oeiras, and AED Cluster Portugal, is a milestone in promoting technological innovation and strengthening synergies between the defence sector and the National Scientific and Technological System.
A space for innovation and dialogue
The event targeted the business community and academic sector, highlighting:
- Seminar: focusing on simulation and its applications in military capability modernization.
- Exhibition: showcasing technological solutions from companies, universities, research centers, and Army projects.
On November 20th, two innovative products were awarded the “Army Tested” qualification seal as part of the initiative “Qualification Marks for Military Systems and Equipment,” developed in collaboration between idD Portugal Defence and the Portuguese Army.
➡️ “Active Clothing with NBQR Protection”
Developed by a consortium consisting of Latino – Confecções, LDA, Tintex Textiles, University of Minho, Sciencentris, and the Portuguese Army, this project aims to protect against NBQR (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Radiological) threats while maintaining high levels of comfort in operational environments. The solution combines advanced fibrous structures with functional coatings, contributing to high-value applications in both the military and civilian sectors.

Presented by IH Care – Innovation Hospital Care, S.A., this 3-in-1 hospital sheet integrates a bottom sheet, cover, and mattress protector. With hydrophobic, antimicrobial, and waterproof properties, the product is designed for use in sanitary support units during campaigns or disaster situations.
The certificates were delivered by the Vice-Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Paulo Emanuel Maia Pereira, accompanied by the President of idD Portugal Defence, Carlos Félix.
