On April 23, a workshop for the dissemination of the Military Programming Law (LPM) was held at the Military University Institute, bringing together various entities from the scientific and technological, business, and national associative systems, reaching entities from the Defence Technological and Industrial Base (BTID) operating in the five operational domains: land, maritime, air, cyber, and space.

The inaugural session was led by Eng. Carlos Félix, President of idD Portugal Defence, marking the beginning of the workshop. Following this, Major Pestana Jardim provided a contextualization of the LPM and highlighted the projects and subprojects under the purview of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Next, Lieutenant Colonel Marco Pinto presented the projects under the responsibility of the Directorate-General for National Defence Resources, followed by presentations from the Portuguese Navy, the Portuguese Army, and the Portuguese Air Force, conducted by Captain Santos Fernandes, Lieutenant Colonel Alves de Sousa, and Colonel Bruno Marado, respectively. Each presentation emphasized the projects and subprojects carried out by each executing entity. The event was concluded by the Director-General for National Defence Resources, Dr. Vasco Hilário.

The LPM establishes public investment in means and equipment for the Armed Forces for the period between 2023 and 2034, amounting to 5.57 billion euros. The LPM includes 35 different military capabilities, more than one hundred projects, and around 400 sub-projects. For the first time, the LPM encompasses the five operational domains: land, maritime, air, cyber, and space. The latter two domains receive significant investments, with 50 million euros allocated for Space and 70 million euros for cyber defence.

The aim of this event is to increase mutual knowledge of the ecosystem, companies, and entities within the national scientific and technological system, promote their capability building and integration into value chains, and contribute to the development of a Defence Technological and Industrial Base (BTID) that meets the current and future needs of the Armed Forces in this rapidly developing sector.
