David van Weel, NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, was this Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Portugal to discuss possible national participation in the DIANA – Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic project and in the future NATO Innovation Fund, having visited the Cyber Academia and Innovation Hub (CAIH) and the Navy Operational Experimentation Center (CEOM).
National proposals for DIANA were presented and substantiated, and facilities were visited, with demonstrations of innovative projects developed by its partners. There was also a visit to the CEOM facilities in Tróia, with demonstrations of piloting UAVs using a command and control container, testing land robots for launching grenades and displaying autonomous underwater vehicles.
Applications to DIANA have the support of idD Portugal Defence as the entity that promotes the Defence Economy in Portugal.
