idD Portugal Defence met, on July 16, with the Navy Chief of Staff, Almirante António Maria Mendes Calado. The meeting was attended by the chairman of idD Portugal Defence, Marco Capitão Ferreira, and the Director General of National Defence Resources, Alberto Coelho.
The parties addressed issues of common interest, immediately exchanging views on how the Defence Economy and the Armed Forces can cooperate, with a special focus on areas relating to ongoing projects at Arsenal do Alfeite, the main ongoing and planned investment programmes, especially those related to the Ocean Patrol Vessel.
Both parts expressed willingness to cooperate closely in the execution of an integrated and articulated policy, in the operational support and export of goods, equipment and services produced by the Defence Economy.
