On the occasion of the 14th Meeting of the Portugal-Algeria Joint Defene Commission, which took place on December 6th, idD Portugal Defence participated in political meetings and promoted a day dedicated to national defence industries in order to promote deeper dialogue and cooperation.

On December 7th, the Algerian Delegation met with idD and companies in the naval and aeronautics sector, namely Arsenal do Alfeite, Aeromec, AeroVoo de Portugal and Tekever, and also visited the facilities of OGMA, EID and ETI.

During the two days, relations in the field of defence were reviewed, potential opportunities for cooperation and future activities were discussed. Among the priorities shared between the two countries, opportunities were identified for the expansion of cooperation in the scope of the most recent domains – Space and Cyberspace – between the national and Algerian Defence industries.

Rooted in the Defence Cooperation Agreement signed in 2005, the Portuguese-Algerian relationship within the Defence industries has been developing in recent years, with emphasis on the maintenance of C-130 aircraft by OGMA.
